Here we tell the story of the Kyuden Group since the founding of our original business of electric power as well as our history built on taking on challenges by evolving with the changing times.

History of the Kyuden Group

In 1951, Kyushu Electric Power was established amid the chaos of the post-war period.
Since then, the Company has striven to provide a stable supply of electricity by pursuing the latest advances in power generation technology and covering the entire Kyushu region with a power transmission and distribution network amid massive changes in the times and international conditions such as the postwar recovery, period of rapid economic growth, and oil crises.

Serving as a local Kyushu company, we continue to provide electricity with our cherished desire of growing together with Kyushu.

Future of the Kyuden Group

The Kyuden Group is undergoing rapid and unprecedented change, driven by advances in carbon neutrality, evolving energy needs, the emergence of geopolitical risks, and accelerating technological innovation.
Looking forward, there is also a host of issues that we must address from a longer-term perspective, such as population decline and depopulation, global resource shortages, and measures to address global warming.

Even in these rapidly changing times, we aspire to contribute to sustainable societal development while remaining rooted in Kyushu and reaching for new heights.
